It is with great sadness that we acknowledge the passing of Harold Williams, a talented percussionist who occasionally played with Allegany Alumni & Friends Band.
RUSHFORD - Harold P. Williams, of 8884 Lower St., passed away Monday (Nov. 29, 2021) in his home. He was born Jan. 16, 1966, in Buffalo, a son of the late Gordon and Louise Penfield Williams.
Harold was an avid drummer and loved musicals. He played in the Rushford Town Band, was a part of the bands OCTaves and AAFB and was active in the Olean Community Theater and the Bradford Little Theater. Harold also enjoyed growing apples and making apple cider.
Surviving are his children, Sydney Williams of Rushford and Stephen Gordon of Rushford; a sister, Sue (David) Garrett of Pittsburgh, Pa.; a brother, Glenn (Linda) Williams of Pickens, S.C.; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial gathering will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in White Cemetery, Rushford. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Kopler-Williams Funeral Home, 21 N Genesee Str., Fillmore.

Comments From Our Audience
(You may email your feedback at the bottom of this page.)
My 4 year old daughter just loved your music at the game. She was getting tired and wanted to leave. We were trying to encourage her to watch the game, count the number of yellow shirts, or whatever possible to keep her there. The minute the music started she jumped up, started to dance, and had the largest smile on her face. Even though I was enjoying the game, I did look forward to the time outs because I knew the music would play.

We enjoy coming back to Allegany every summer, as we know we will be able to hear the alumni band play. We also attend the Taste of Olean and listen to you play, and we look forward to another summer. Is it possible to be able to play the theme music from "E.T."? I am not a musician, so have no idea as to what that would involve--but all your music is enjoyable. Thank You All!

It is my great pleasure to congratulate the Allegany Alumni & Friends Band on celebrating 10 years in the entertainment industry. The musicians are to be commended on their talents and for providing enjoyable entertainment to the residents within Cattaraugus County and the surrounding areas. Thank you for all you do. I am very proud to be your representative in the State Senate. I extend my best wishes for your continued success. (What a nice idea to have food items brought to the concert to help the needy!)
Warmest wishes,
Catharine M. Young, member of the NYS Senate

Thank you once again for having the Allegany Alumni & Friends Band perform for the Village of Allegany's 6th Annual Hot Dog Fest held recently. It proved to be a successful event once again, as we cooked and served almost 600 hot dogs, snacks, and beverages during the evening. The participants enjoyed listening to music of your band while enjoying a light dinner in the company of their friends and family. On behalf of the Board of Trustees, we appreciate your willingness to be an active part in various community events. Thank you again.
Sincerely,
Richard J. Lamberson, Mayor of Allegany
Allegany Weiner Roast concert, 8/5/2010
Everyone had a great time! The band enjoyed playing and we enjoyed listening. Now that's the understatement of the week!
The time, talent, and effort that the band members give to make an exceptional program and the foot tapping, head nodding, etc. of the audience can't be measured! We are looking forward to attending the next concert. (Just a PS! You have a great web site! Very easy to navigate and very informative! What a great bunch of talent you guys have!)

Out of all the bands we have at Bonafest, AAFB is by far the most popular! Thank you all for everything you do to make the band so great, and for being willing to share your gifts with our community!
Thank you!!!!!

Last Thursday's concert in Cuba was outstanding! I heard many positive comments from a happy audience. The band played a nice variety of pieces, seeming to enjoy themselves as much as we enjoyed listening. You are working with some gifted musicians. How fortunate we are that they were willing to share their talents, as well as their time, with our small community. It was a perfect summer evening in Cuba, NY. Thank you.

"The concert was FANTASTIC... The Allegany Alumni & Friends Band is a group of very talented and skilled musicians who bring listening and visual joy to a LOT of people. It is very apparent that all of you greatly enjoy producing that beautiful music. Keep up the good work."

One of my favorite things I enjoy about summer is going to outdoor concerts. Recently I attended one by the Allegany Alumni & Friends Band on the grounds of Absolut of Allegany. As the band members set up, the residents were brought out in their wheelchairs, walkers, and some walked aided by staff and friends. Several other lovers of concerts joined us. The music was good. These musicians play because they enjoy it. Their pleasure was reflected on the faces of their audience, especially those of the residents of Absolut of Allegany. Thank you to the Allegany Alumni & Friends Band and Absolut for making us all feel good.
